Description:

The lofty mountainous terrain and cascading rivers, offer adventure sports like trekking, mountaineering and river rafting. Kalimpong is located in the northern part of the state of West Bengal, in the northeastern region of India. It is adjacent to the state of Sikkim and near the Teesta River. The first thing that strikes the traveler visiting Kalimpong is its quiet atmosphere. The peaceful ambience that pervades is heightened by the presence of monasteries and churches across the town. Kalimpong is also known for its bustling bazaars and traditional handicrafts. It is famous for its orchids and nurseries. Kalimpong offers panoramic view of the great Himalayan ranges that lie beyond it. There are numerous nurseries in Kalimpong, which excel in production of orchids. Travelers can visit some important nurseries across the town and look at their collection of flowers, orchids and cacti. Gangtok is a city, which, till one sees it, one would believe exists only in picture-story books. Pelling a beautifully located hill at a height of 6800ft initially covered with wild thick jungle providing hideouts and shelter to many indigenous wild animals.

Tour Itinerary:Sealdah - NJP - Darjeeling - Kalimpong - Gangtok - Pelling - NJP - Sealdah

Day 1 (Sat)Dep. from Sealdah Railway Station by 2343 Darjeeling Mail at 22.05 hrs. Overnight in the train. Day 2: (Sun)Arrive New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station at 08.00 hrs. Meet & greet at NJP Rly station/ Bagdogra Airport, then proceed to Darjeeling (about 90 kms/ 3 hrs) by sumo/bus, night stay in hotel. Day 3: (Mon)Wake up at 04.30 hrs for early morning sight seeing of Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery,Batasia Loop, return to hotel for break fast and then start for sight seeing to cover rock garden, Gangamaya, Zoo, HMI & Tibetan Handicraft centre. Dinner and night stay at hotel in Darjeeling. Day 4: (Tue)After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong (3 hrs), and night stay at hotel. Day 5: (Wed)After breakfast, Kalimpong local site seeing (Durpin Dara view monastery, Chitravanu, pine view nursery etc), after lunch transfer to Gangtok. Day 6: (Thu)Early morning b/fast and departure for Tsomgo lake, Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial (14000 ft, 54 km). Dinner and night stay at hotel in Gangtok. Day 7: (Fri)After b/fast Gangtok local sight seeing covering Rumtek with 5 point. After lunch, transfer to Pelling (6800 ft, 132 km/ 5 hr), night stay in hotel.
Day 8 : (Sat)After breakfast, Pelling site seeing (Rimbi falls, Kanchanjungha falls, Khecheopalri Wish Lake), back to hotel for lunch, after lunch visit Pemayangtse monastery, Rabdantse ruins & view point, night stay in hotel. Day 9: (Sun)After b/fast transfer to NJP Rly. Station/ Bagdogra Airport. ( 145 km/ 5 hrs). Departure from NJP by 2344 Darjeeling Mail at 20.00 hrs. Day 10: (Mon)Arrival at Sealdah Rly. Station at 06.00 hrs. Tour ends |
