Fairy Queen

 

1855, The year when the majestic Fairy Queen rolled out for the erstwhile East Indian Railway. For the first time after 1908, the Fairy Queen rolled again on Feb. 1st, 1997 from Delhi to Alwar. The steam engine is the oldest working engine in the world. Finding its pride of place in the Guinness Book of World Records and also capturing the National Tourism Award, this prestigious pristine beauty that graces the National Rail Museum, New Delhi, is steaming once again. The Queen, with the privileged ones aboard reaches the picturesque town of Alwar in Rajasthan the same day, from where the guests are taken to Sariska Tiger Reserve for an overnight stay. The guests will certainly go back with fond memories of a once-in-a lifetime experience. Indian Railways proudly offer a unique two days all-inclusive package by combining thrill, romance, and wildlife and steam heritage on the Fairy Queen.

 

The Fairy Queen has a 60-seater specially designed air-conditioned chair car with a large glass window from where you can have a frontal view of the Locomotive, besides there is a well maintained pantry car for on board catering. As an added attraction, the coach has a beautiful lounge in the front, which provides a scenic beauty of the countryside. For your enjoyment numerous cultural programs are organized on the evening of the first day at the Hotel Sariska Palace. Sariska
Sariska Tiger Reserve is famous for its magnificent tigers, leopards, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur. Sariska also shelters many different species of birds including Bush Quails, Sand Grouses, Tree Pies, Golden backed Woodpeckers, crested Serpent Eagles and Great Indian horned Owls. Sariska is an ideal leisure spot for those interested in wildlife and ancient architecture. The town has the ruins of 9th and 10th century temples. Siliserh Lake is another attraction which is inhabited by crocodiles on the edge of the sanctuary. Located right next to the tiger reserve is the Sariska Palace.

CANCELLATION RULES
1. There shall be no refund except.

a) When the train is cancelled for technical reasons by the Railways.

b) When the tourist is not able to travel on account of unforeseen circumstances.
2.  The refund will be granted as follows :-
  In case of (a) above,
  (I) Full refund of the fare less 1% handling charges
  In case of (b) above
  (I) No refund, if the ticket is cancelled less than 15 days in advance including the date of journey.
  (II) 50% refund, if the ticket is cancelled more than 15 days in advance excluding date of journey.
