Varanasi: The land of Varanasi (Kashi) has been the ultimate pilgrimage spot for Hindus for ages. Often referred to as Benares, Varanasi is the oldest living city in the world. These few lines by Mark Twain say it all: "Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together". Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth. Abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, the origins of Varanasi are yet unknown. Ganges in Varanasi is believed to have the power to wash away the sins of mortals.

Proposed Itinerary

Day – 01: Arrive Varanasi

• Meeting on arrival at Varanasi Railway station & transfer to Hotel.
• Dinner & overnight at hotel.

• Morning breakfast at hotel.
• Proceed for city tour of Varanasi, or Banaras, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world.
• Lunch at hotel.
• An excursion to Sarnath, marking the site where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon! Within the complex is the large Dhamekha Stupa, constructed by the Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC, and several other Buddhist structures that were added between the 3rd and 11th century BC.
• Witness the aarti ceremony on the river Ganges bank.
• Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day – 03: Varanasi Departure

• Early morning proceed for boat ride at river Ganges.
• Breakfast at hotel. Half day city tour visiting Kasha Viswanath temple, Durga temple, Sankat mochan and Tulsi mata mandir and  visiting old part of the city on the banks of holy river Ganges and stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling the world-famous Banaras Silks among many other things.
• Transfer to railway station to board train for onward journey.
